Medium Nature Print Coptic Blank Book (leaf)
This is a medium, hand-crafted hard cover blank book, with a hand-printed Nature Print cover and exposed spine stitching. It uses unlined paper and lays flat—perfect for journaling or sketching, or even for use as a scrapbook or recipe book!
It has 160 pages (80 leaves) and measures approximately 4-1/2" wide, 5-3/4” tall, and about 1-1/8” deep at the spine. All of my books have my "Damselfly Books" stamp at the bottom of the last page.
*The lighter colored cord and knot seen on the spine in the photos above is from the (easily removable) tag.
Process
First I made the bookcloth out of natural linen fabric, then I printed onto one piece of the bookcloth, using a locally-gathered Sycamore leaf as the printing surface and dark brown fabric block printing ink. After it dried completely over several days, I then used the printed bookcloth, dark brown cardstock, and bookboard to create the covers (with the plain linen bookcloth for the back cover).
I created all of the signatures for the inside of the book from Mohawk Superfine 80-lb text paper (which is acid-free, archival, Forest Stewardship Council-certified, and made with wind power).
Finally, I sewed everything together using lightly waxed brown Irish linen thread and a Coptic stitch.

Important Notes
Please note that this book is also currently showing in a local gallery, so there is the smallest possibility that this book will not be available. While I try my best to keep the stock updated here, I am unable to go to the gallery every day to keep track of what has sold. When I receive your order, I will go down to the gallery and verify that it is available; if it is not, I will refund the price of the book and any associated shipping charges within 24 hours.
Also note that, if you order more than one item, I may need to send an invoice for updated shipping charges to account for a larger box, depending on the items ordered.
Thank you for your understanding as I work out the kinks of having an online shop as well as selling items locally.
I do my best to take pictures that accurately portray the item, but please note that there may be slight differences between the photos and the actual book, especially in color.
